Gretel was rescued from an illegal breeding facility in South Korea, where she and her brother Hansel spent their early months without the safety or comfort every puppy deserves. But those days are behind her — Gretel is now safe and hopeful, dreaming of the family who will finally show her what love feels like. She has travelled so far for her second chance, and she’s more than ready to share her heart with someone special. And yes — her brother Hansel is also available for adoption! Adoption Details Her adoption fee of $1,895 is a non-refundable donation that helps us continue saving dogs in need. It covers: Spay Vaccinations Microchip Boarding fees Health certificate Transport from South Korea to Seattle ✈️ A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs — you may bring your own or purchase one from us. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
