Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Adoption Fee: 250.00. Meet Brandy! Brandy and his five brothers had a tough start to life, born in a culvert in Waller on September 27, 2025. Brandy is the biggest of the bunch, but also one of the sweetest. He loves playing outside, running around, and goofing off with his siblings. He also gets along wonderfully with the older, larger resident dogs—he listens to their corrections and shows great manners. Brandy is a people-pleaser who responds well to gentle correction from humans, too. He absolutely loves lap time and belly rubs! He plays hard, sleeps hard, and snoozes through the night without any accidents. He’s crate trained and making fantastic daily progress with house training. His nickname? BIG Fluff—and he lives up to it in all the best ways.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
