Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Hiya! Iâm Maurice! A playful pup, zoomie king, snack enthusiast, and professional snuggler, all rolled into one happy tail-wagging package. Playtime? Oh, Iâm all about it. Toss me a toy, chase me around the yard, or just get on the floor and be silly with me and Iâll light up like itâs the best day ever (because, honestly, it probably is). I get these wild bursts of energy.... you know, the zoomies... where I just have to run full speed in circles like Iâve got rocket boosters on. Itâs kind of my signature move. Now, snacks? Donât even get me started. I love snacks. Crunchy ones, chewy ones, surprise treats from your pocket. But once the zoomies are out and the snacks are gone, Iâm all about the snuggles. Iâll curl right up next to you (or on top of you if you let me) and rest my head on your chest like itâs where Iâve always belonged. I love being close to my humans. Itâs where I feel happiest and safest. So I'm Maurice! Zooms, snacks, cuddles, repeat. Letâs be best friends.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
