Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). MY ADOPTION FEE WILL BE WAIVED 12/08-12/14! Meet Hazy! This sweet, spirited girl has so much love to give. Sheâs silly, energetic, outgoing, and incredibly smart! Hazy thrives with plenty of exercise, and in her previous home she enjoyed burning off energy by chasing balls, jogging, and even running alongside her family as they biked. She adores sniffy walks in the grass, playing with toys, soaking up pets, and meeting new people. Hazy would prefer to be the only animal in the home, but could be successful with kids who can participate in her training. Hazy can get a bit jumpy when sheâs excited, so sheâs looking for a family who will patiently help her learn calmer ways to show her enthusiasm. With guidance, structure, and lots of love, Hazy will make a joyful and devoted companion.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
