Her blackish-brown coat glows, her golden eyes sparkle with joy, and her heart is overflowing with love to give. She is intelligent, athletic, and eager to learn She has already mastered “sit,” walks beautifully on a leash with her harness, and learns new commands quickly. Fetch is her favorite game, and she plays with enthusiasm (she’s still working on the “drop the ball” part, but she’s trying!). This sweet girl adores being around people and enjoys children of all ages. She is not good with cats. Lovey is friendly with other dogs and passes them politely on walks. Lovey’s foster describes her as loving, joyful, and playful. She gives kisses freely, her tail never stops wagging, and she believes that every lap is meant for cuddling no matter her size. After everything she has endured, Lovey is ready for a forever family who will treasure her. She has a remarkable capacity to love, and she is so eager to share it with a family of her own. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a survivor’s heart and a playful spirit, Lovey is waiting to meet you. Breed overview
Overview:
The Lab-Pointer, a charming crossbreed of the Labrador Retriever and Pointer, originated from the desire to combine the best qualities of both parent breeds. Physically, they are typically medium to large dogs, showcasing a athletic build, often with a short, dense coat in various colors like black, yellow, chocolate, or liver, and sometimes the distinctive Pointer markings. Their temperament is generally a delightful blend: intelligent, loyal, and eager to please like the Lab, combined with the Pointer's alert and energetic nature. This makes them highly trainable, though they do require consistent exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom. While affectionate and good with children, their energy levels mean they are best suited for active families with a yard, rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from either parent, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain cancers, making responsible breeding and regular vet check-ups crucial for their well-being.
