Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Siberian Husky / Mixed (medium coat). #A5735522 Meet Zion , an 8-month-old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix pup, like a fluffy little marshmallow with a plush cream coat and dark, expressive eyes that will steal your heart in an instant. ❄️ He’s very scared in his kennel. He clearly does not want to be here and it’s heartbreaking, because his previous owners gave up on him while he’s still just a baby with his whole life ahead of him. Right now, Zion is in full flight mode, needing someone gentle and patient to show him that the world isn’t so frightening and that there are good people he can trust. With a slow, thoughtful approach, confidence building, and tons of TLC, this sweet boy has so much potential to blossom into an incredible companion. He just needs a hero willing to help him feel safe, seen, and loved. Will you be that person for Zion? -8 month old white German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix -66 pound neutered male -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 10/28/25 as an owner surrender -Zion is urgent given how long he’s been at the shelter, and we have no idea why he was surrendered, as he’s the goodest of boys! Breed overview
Overview:
The Gerberian Shepsky is a hybrid of the German Shepherd Dog and Siberian Husky, emerging in North America as a modern companion with working-dog roots. Typically medium to large, they feature an athletic build, erect ears, and a dense double coat, often with striking blue or heterochromatic eyes. Their temperament blends loyalty, intelligence, and independence, making them affectionate yet occasionally headstrong. With very high energy, they thrive on daily exercise and structured training, suiting active families more than apartment living without ample outdoor time. Early socialization supports good manners with children and other pets. Notable health considerations include potential hip dysplasia and eye issues; regular vet care, weight management, and coat grooming help maintain well-being. Their typical lifespan ranges around 10–13 years, rewarding committed owners with a loyal, adventurous companion.
