Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). 10/26/25 13:43 CA Manny is a true Husky through and through. He is independent, expressive, and full of personality. At 3 years old, heâs a handsome boy who knows exactly what he likes (and what he doesnât!), and heâs not shy about letting you know. Manny is looking for a confident, experienced owner who understands the Husky breed and will give him the time, structure, and respect he needs to build trust. Once that bond is formed, you'll have a loyal, fun, and fascinating companion for life. To help him succeed, Manny is going to traning school, led by dedicated volunteers who know and love him. So far Manny has demostrated his incredible manners in public, passing by people and other dogs without any problme. He might be selective about play buddies during play groups, but on a paxk walk, he welcomes everybody. Heâs already got a solid fan club here at the shelterâbecause under that independent streak is a dog with so much potential and heart. Manny has been with us since April 2025, and while heâs done well, heâs ready to leave the shelter behind and find a forever home where he can truly thrive. If you or someone you know loves Huskies and understands their unique communication style, Manny is waiting to meet you. He doesnât need a perfect person, just someone who sees him for who he is and is ready to be his partner in life. To learn more or schedule a meet-and-greet with Manny, email advocatessbcasgmail and his is advocate will be happy to chat!

Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
