Breed: Pit Bull X DOB: 4/2018 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: large Color(s): brown brindle/white Description: ***Needs a Foster Home*** This dog is in need of a foster home as well as a permanent home. If you are interested in fostering please fill out an online foster application. Hi, I'm Anubis, named after the Egyptian God, a beautiful Pit Bull X. I was lucky to be taken hiking by a CARL volunteer. I rode well in the car, walked great on leash and wasn't fazed by any of the people or animals I encountered during our hike. I think I'd make a great adventure buddy. I'm very sweet and social with people. I'm always happy to see a friendly face and to make new friends too. Volunteers say I am a good walker, I do not pull and love to sniff the walking route. I also love to go after lizards. I know commands of sit, paw, and lay down. I would love an active home where I can be your one and only. Please consider adopting me. If you're interested in meeting me, please fill out an online application to meet me.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
