Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Meet Pepi! This sweet 4-year-old Shepherd mix is searching for her forever family through No Dog Left Behind – Minnesota Canine Rescue! Pepi came to rescue from a local reservation, already pregnant. She was an incredible mama to three beautiful pups who have all found their forever homes — now it’s her turn to be someone’s whole world. Pepi is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and snuggle queen. She loves going places, exploring, and getting her zoomies out (especially in the snow!), but when it’s movie time, she’ll be right in your lap or cozied up beside you. Her ideal evening is being wrapped in your arms, showering you with kisses, and soaking up every bit of love she can get. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and super smart — food motivation is her love language, and she learns quickly! Her heart belongs to kids most of all. Pepi absolutely adores them — their cuddles, their giggles, all of it. She soaks up belly rubs like it’s her full-time job and would love a family who enjoys showing affection right back. While she enjoys doggy friends for playdates, Pepi prefers being the only pet at home so she can have all the love to herself (more hands = more belly rubs!). She has met cats, but the temptation to chase is very real, so a kitty-free home is best. Pepi doesn’t bark much, but she takes her yard patrol duties seriously — she likes to make sure no sneaky intruders are around. A fenced yard would be amazing for her zoomies, though it isn’t required as long as she gets her playtime and adventure outings. Pepi is ready to be someone’s loyal ride-or-die. If you’re looking for a girl who brings joy, affection, and fun wherever she goes… Pepi might just be your perfect match. Think she could be the one? Let’s get you two together! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $375.00

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
