Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Meet Pepi! Pepi is a sweet, soulful 4-year-old Shepherd mix who’s ready to find her forever family. She came to rescue already pregnant and proved what an amazing mama she is by raising three beautiful pups—all of whom are now adopted. Now it’s finally Pepi’s turn to be someone’s whole world. Pepi is the perfect balance of fun-loving adventurer and devoted cuddle bug. She loves outings, exploring new places, and getting her zoomies out (snow is a personal favorite!). But when the day winds down, she’s all about snuggling up close—whether that means curling up beside you or climbing right into your lap for movie night. Her ideal evening includes kisses, belly rubs, and soaking up every ounce of affection you’re willing to give. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and incredibly smart. Pepi is food-motivated and eager to learn, which makes training a breeze. She especially adores kids—their laughter, cuddles, and attention make her heart absolutely melt. Pepi enjoys dog friends for playdates, but she’d prefer to be the only pet in the home so she can have all the love (and belly rubs) to herself. She has met cats, but her instinct to chase means a cat-free home would be best. While she isn’t much of a barker, Pepi does take her “yard security” role seriously and likes to keep an eye on her surroundings. A fenced yard would be a bonus for her zoomies, though it’s not required as long as she gets regular playtime and adventures. Pepi is ready to be someone’s loyal, loving sidekick—the kind of dog who fills your home with joy, affection, and laughter. If you’re looking for a devoted companion with a huge heart, Pepi may be your perfect match. Think she could be the one? Let’s get you two together! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $375.00

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
