Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Hello there! My name is Estelle, my pup and I were found in Sistersville as strays and sadly were not claimed. I am a sweet, loving and calm girl that doesn't get excited about much besides attention from the staff. I am a good listener and also know how to sit and sometimes stay. I am also very talkative. I am definitely a foodie and love to eat and get treats! I am spayed, fully vaccinated and also current on my preventatives. I however tested positive for Lyme Disease on the combo test. It is a treatable disease with a 30-day cycle of doxycycline. I don't mind other dogs, but I will chase the cats if given the chance. I would like to have a meet and greet with you and your family and also any of your furry friends as well! If you are interested and what to adopt me, please go to our website: olivebranchwv to fill out an application and come and meet me!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
