THATCHER NEEDS A FOSTER HOME!!!! Name: Thatcher Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Hound mix Best Guess for Age: 2 Years as of January 2026 SEX: Male Estimated Weight : 57 lbs as of December 2025 Gets Along With: Other dogs! He has not lived with children or cats, but has spent some time around them and done well with initial introductions. Currently Living at: DC area foster home. What My Foster Says About Me: If you are looking for a dog who likes to hang out with his family, play with toys, go on walks and snuggle, then Thatcher is for you! Thatcher is very food motivated and it’s also obvious that he wants to make his humans happy. On walks, he is great on the leash, loves to explore the world by sniffing everything and will stop and look back to make sure every member of his family pack is keeping up with him. In the house, he likes to be next to you, keeping you company and snuggling next to you as you watch TV or work at your desk. He’s the perfect sidekick! He likes other dogs and also likes to play with his toys in the house, bringing you his toys so he can play fetch with them. (But be careful about leaving him with his toys; he will rip the stuffing out of them :).) His zoomies, both indoor and outdoor, are something to behold – pure joy! He also is very good with kids. He does bark at the dogs he sees passing our house, but only because he wants to be social. Thatcher is comfortable in his crate and is good about letting you know that he has to go outside. He also seems to really like car rides and will fall asleep in the backseat with his head in your lap. Above all, Thatcher is super loving and loyal! And his fur is so very soft -- like expensive silk! He would be an amazing addition to any family. And, for sure, Thatcher is more than ready to have a family who will love him forever!
