Dog Breed: Husky (medium coat). Click Here to Sponsor Me! Adoption APPLICATION: Muttsinneed/adoption-application ** Application must be completed prior to a meet & greet. Our Adoption Process:Muttsinneed/adoption-process Meet Hailey! This sweet girl was sadly dumped at a park with her leash and food bowls, waiting for someone who never came back. Thankfully, one of our volunteers found her and took her in while searching for her family. When no one came forward, we welcomed Hailey into our rescue with open arms. Hailey is approximately 2 years old and weighs around 40–45 lbs. She LOVES other dogs, enjoys car rides, and is an absolute ham with people once she feels comfortable. She’ll happily roll onto her back for belly rubs and leans in close for affection. Hailey is curious, silly, and incredibly loving. She isn’t your typical husky—she’s neither vocal nor overly rambunctious (though husky lovers adore those traits!). Spend just a few minutes with her, and you’ll see her wonderful temperament shine through. To meet Hailey, submit an application at: .muttsinneed/adoption-application.html

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
