Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Rusty!! This 1 year old petite pitty mix came to us when she wandered into some kind folks barn. Nobody claimed her so now she is looking for her forever home through adoption! Rusty is a high energy gal and will require an active owner that will be willing to bring her on adventures and give her an outlet to run some energy off. Rusty has been kid tested and seems to really enjoy them! She is okay with confident cats. Rusty enjoys other dogs, but tends to be a bit pushy and tries to be “in charge” so a non reactive resident dog might be a good fit for Rusty. Along with a confident owner that has some experience with the bully breeds. Rusty enjoys toys and playing tug of war, and is getting better with her crate training. Rusty is eager to please humans and we know she will be a fabulous companion for the right adopter, could it be you? Rusty is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped! With an approved application her adoption fee is $275.00

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
