Dog Breed: Corgi / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescueyahoo), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. Oh my goodness, still trying to figure out exactly what MADDIE is but the vet thinks she is mixed with Corgi/Terrier/Dachshund. They estimate her to be exactly 1 year old and she weighs 25 pounds. MADDIE is a very good girl who is pleasant to be around and low maintenance on a daily basis. She gets along with all of the dogs in the foster home and plays with most of them. She is so easy-going and nice. I figure she came from a home with kids in it because when she was found she had a pink marker drawing on her head, only a kid would do that. Sadly, MADDIE was abandoned in a local PetSmart here in San Antonio, TX. A lady pretending to be showing brought her in and just left her in the store to roam around. The manager called me to help and I picked her up. If you are interested in adopting MADDIE please submit an application on the website below. Thank you. .roxysk9rescue ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes. Each dog comes spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice. The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption. They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
