Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Candy (AL) is a female Pit Bull Terrier mix whose age is estimated to be 2-3 weeks old at the time of intake in early December 2023. Candy is up to date on core vaccines (age-appropriate). She is also microchipped. Candy's life almost came to an early end when some monster tried to drown her in a lake. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term.
