Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Alice has a sad story to tell. She was rescued from the Memphis Animal Control facility by a rescue out of NC. They dumped this dog on our foster mom, after taking the pledges and basically running. The foster mom paid for all of Alice's vetting which includes her spay and she was treated for heartworms. Shame on that "rescue". Alice is a sweetheart! She loves everyone, except cats! Housebroken, crate trained and new dog friends, well, that depends on the new dog. She is not that selective, just needs to meet them first. She always has a smile on her face and loves to meet new people!!! She is a strong girl and needs a few more manners on leash but otherwise, a great girl. Please complete our adoption application below if you can offer the home that Alice deserves! goo.gl/dGoP1L

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
