Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 185.00. Foster to Adopt Program Hi there! I'm Xander, a resilient and loving pitbull looking for my forever home. I’ve had my share of challenges, including a tough injury under my leg, but that hasn’t stopped me from living life to the fullest! I’m a playful pup who just wants to be by your side, soaking up all the love and attention I can get. I’m also potty trained and learn new tricks easily. My foster family taught me to sit in a matter of minutes! I’m learning to sleep in a playpen and be in a crate when needed. But I do much better if I can be curled up close to my favorite humans. I promise to be your loyal companion, always ready for snuggles and outdoor adventures. If you’re looking for a furry friend who’s ready to share a life full of joy and affection, I’m your guy! Let’s make some amazing memories together!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
