Dog Breed: Dachshund / Pug / Mixed (short coat). Elliot ❤️ I can’t resist his cute little face and those beautiful hazel-green eyes ❣️❣️ And his personality is just an added BONUS ❣️❣️ This boy is a total charmer — playful, obedient, treat-motivated, and oh-so-smart. Elliot is incredibly loving with all people and does wonderfully with older, considerate children. He’s great with gentle dogs of all sizes, enjoys car rides, loves long walks, and has the best time in the small dog section of the dog park. Elliot is house trained, potty trained, and kennel trained… although his favorite place to sleep is right next to you all night long. He did have a cherry eye, but he had successful surgery on February 4, 2024, and is doing great! He’s fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped — ready to start his new adventures in his forever home with you. Pug/Dachshund mixes are simply the best!!! The Daug, a delightful hybrid resulting from the cross between a Dachshund and a Pug, offers a unique blend of its charming parent breeds. Originating from designer breed programs aimed at combining desirable traits, the Daug typically inherits a compact, sturdy build, often with a slightly elongated body reminiscent of the Dachshund and the distinctive wrinkled face and curled tail of the Pug. Their coats vary but are generally short and easy to maintain. Temperamentally, Daugs are known for being affectionate, playful, and often quite clownish, making them excellent companions. They tend to be good with families, including children, and adapt well to apartment living due to their moderate exercise needs. However, like both parent breeds, they can be prone to certain health issues such as respiratory problems (brachycephalic syndrome from the Pug side) and back issues (intervertebral disc disease from the Dachshund side), requiring owners to be diligent about their care and regular veterinary check-ups.
