Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). RICK MALE 2.5YRS Rick is a 2.5 year old pitty boy looking for his forever adventure buddy ! Rick is a very sweet boy who loves his people, he would prefer to be the only pup in the home, but will warm up to other doggo friends as long as they don’t try to take his things. Rick loves running, ball, playing, ball, chilling on the couch, and did we mention his ball??? Rick is currently being fostered with cats and does well, he is housebroken, and crate trained. He has greatly warmed up to the other dogs in the home, just doesn’t do well with highly dominant pups. He knows his basic commands and he’s continue to learn more every day! Rick takes time to warm up to new people but a few treats and his favorite toys, you will be best buddies in no time. . Please note before applying if you rent your home / apartment that your landlord allows PitBull breeds. Rick is fixed, up to date on vaccinations , current in a yearly heartworm test (Negative), and on preventative care. His adoption fee is $275 .ajssearchandrescue/adoption-application

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
