Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Available through our Evansville IN location Meet Lumpre – A Gentle Soul with a Nubbin Tail and a Big Heart Born in October 2024, Lumpre is a young male pit mix who currently weighs in at 40 lbs. He was pulled from EACC and is now looking for a loving forever home through ITV Rescue in Evansville, IN. LUMPRE is great with other dogs, does well with kids, and even gets along with cats—he’s a well-rounded, lovable pup! While he can be a little shy at first, his sweet nature quickly shines through once he feels safe. This adorable guy also has a unique nubbin tail, the result of a stubborn case of Happy Tail that just wouldn’t heal. It only adds to his charm and doesn’t slow down his wag one bit. Lumpre is looking for a patient and loving home where he can continue to grow into the confident, loyal companion he’s meant to be. Apply to meet Lumpre today at ITVrescue! All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
