Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Bulldog / Mixed (short coat). Lucy (previously known as Lyra) is being fostered in central NJ. Please complete an application if you wish to meet this awesome girl. Hi all, it's me, Lucy! I have been waiting a while for my forever cuz when I got to NJ, I was scared and confused about all the changes. I've been really lucky to have foster families to love me and show me how to be part of a family! You would never now to see me know that I was that shy pup in the corner! ​I love to play and go on adventures with my person, long walks, fresh air, new smells. I am all in! I'm what they call a "companion only" girl. that means that I want to be your one and only, your full-time, best friend, the only dog in the home. When I see other dogs out and about, I am polite and usually just go about my business, I'm just a happiest doing my own thing. They tell me I am really smart and with my foster mom, I am learning so many things! Doing business outside? Nailed it! Sleeping in my crate, not a problem! I'm still a teenager, so sometimes I need a reminder to "keep 4 on the floor" and mind my manners. If you are looking for a loyal, playful, slightly goofy, completely devoted companion who will choose you over everyone else, I might be the girl for you! The pups, only 7-8 weeks old at the time, had not received any of their required vaccinations or de-wormings and were left to roam freely around the property which was littered with trash, broken down vehicles and other unsanitary conditions. upon their arrival to SoCo Rescue, we immediately began administering their vet care. Lyra has now received all of her first year "puppy" vaccinations, de-wormings and other preventative care. She's also been started on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
