Despite her struggles, she was fortunate enough to be noticed by a compassionate rescue who gave her the chance she so deeply deserved. Tabasco is an adorable low-rider with a long body close to the ground and a perfectly balanced size—not too small and not too big. She can be shy at first, but her tender heart truly shines when she’s met with patience and kind, gentle words. Once she feels safe, she loves to curl up beside you on the couch and quietly enjoy your company. She gets along well with other dogs and has a calm, low-key personality. Tabasco is happiest simply being near her people, relaxing, and taking in the day at her own pace. She’s looking for a loving home that understands she may need a little time to adjust—but that time will be repaid many times over. With trust comes her affection, sweet kisses, and the joyful excitement of seeing you walk through the door.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Bassetdor, a delightful cross between the Basset Hound and the Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity for its unique blend of traits. Originating from the desire to combine the Basset's laid-back nature with the Lab's trainability and friendliness, this medium-sized dog typically inherits the Basset's characteristic long ears and short legs, often paired with the Lab's athletic build and expressive eyes. Their coat can vary in color and texture, often reflecting the common hues of both parent breeds. Temperamentally, Bassetdors are known for being affectionate, loyal, and generally good-natured, making them excellent family pets. While adaptable, their moderate energy levels mean they thrive with regular exercise and may not be ideally suited for very small apartments without sufficient outdoor activity. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from both sides, such as hip and elbow dysplasia from the Labrador and disc issues or ear infections common to the Basset Hound.
