Complete an application at Application – Carolina Poodle Rescue 260092 Date into Rescue: 05/17/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Oscar was found as a stray and landed at a shelter. Oscar would be happy as your only pet, or living with other pets. You can work outside the home and offer him a mid-day break, or be home during the day. You can live in a single-family home or a townhome/apartment. Oscar's one requirement is cuddling in the bed at night. He sleeps pressed against his foster mom and thinks this is the best way to snuggle. What is my personality like? Meet Oscar, the Chihuahua mix with the world’s biggest smile and the happiest little heart! Found wandering the streets without a care in the world, Oscar greeted everyone he met with that signature grin. This sweet boy is the definition of go-with-the-flow — easygoing, gentle, and ready to roll with whatever the day brings. Oscar loves people, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is a total champ in the car. Whether you’re running errands, taking a road trip, or relaxing on the couch, he’s just thrilled to be by your side. Oscar is a simple soul with one big wish - a person of his very own. How do I act when I first meet new people? Oscar meets new people with ease. He's a low-key sort of boy that thinks new faces are new friends. Other tips and tidbits: Oscar was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 10 years old. We celebrate his birthday 05/17/2015. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive — and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. Breed overview
Overview:
The Rat-Cha, a charming crossbreed between the Chihuahua and Rat Terrier, offers a spirited companion with a unique blend of its parent breeds' best traits. Originating from the desire to combine the Chihuahua's affectionate nature with the Rat Terrier's intelligence and robustness, this hybrid is gaining popularity. Physically, Rat-Chas are typically small to medium-sized, weighing between 6 and 15 pounds, with a short, easy-to-care-for coat that can vary widely in color. They often possess expressive eyes and a sturdy build, reflecting their terrier lineage. Temperamentally, they are known for being alert, playful, and loyal, often forming strong bonds with their families. While they can be vocal, early socialization and training can mitigate this. Their adaptable size makes them well-suited for both apartment living and homes with yards, and they can be wonderful additions to active families, though supervision is wise with very young children due to their smaller stature. Health-wise, like many small breeds, they can be prone to dental issues and patellar luxation, so regular vet check-ups are important.
