Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350. KEEVA FEMALE 11 MONTHS 25 LBS Happy friendly girl , who gets along great with the dogs and mostly ignores the cats. She does not live with children, but has been friendlywith them at adoption events. Crate trained, and housebroken. She was a stray from southern OH that we pulled from the pound, so we have no background information on her. We are guessing her around 11 months old and a medium size mix. (Beagle ?- I'm sure it's a bunch of things haha. She is starting to remind her foster mom of a small redbone coonhound) She is a young active girl who love a hiking partner and/or another dog to play with. This animal is current on all age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed. They have also been given flea prevention. Adoption fee is $350.00. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
