Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Ghirardelli! If you’re looking for something decadent, smooth, and guaranteed to make you smile, meet Ghirardelli! Just like his namesake, this 60lb "Oreo" pup is 100% premium sweetness. At 13 months old, Ghirardelli is the perfect mix of puppy playfulness and "big dog" snuggles. He’s already mastered the hard stuff—he’s fully potty trained, crate trained, and lives peacefully with both dogs and cats! His "Taste" Profile: Professional Cuddler: His favorite hobby is melting into you on the couch. Toy Enthusiast: He’s a "power chewer" who takes his toy testing very seriously. Social Butterfly: He loves the dog park and thinks every human and dog is a potential best friend. Ghirardelli is working hard on his leash manners (he just gets so excited to see friends!) and would love a home with a fenced yard where he can zoom to his heart's content. If you’re a strong leader with a soft spot for big, goofy grins, Ghirardelli is your man! He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Ghirardelli is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT GHIRARDELLI!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
