Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Adrian is a female mix, 2-3 years old, 40-50 pounds and she is looking for her forever home! Adrian was once a loved companion, but sadly her owner passed away and no family could take her or her sister Sadie in, so they found themselves both in the shelter and on the euthanasia list, but AAVA stepped in just in time and saved them! They are now safe in boarding, but really could use a home to call their own! They can be adopted separately or together. Adrian is a very sweet girl who does well on the leash, will sit for treats, gets along well with other dogs and is kennel trained and potty trained! Her two favorite things to do are play fetch with a ball and cuddle up on you on the couch and get all of the pets and loving! She really is the best of both worlds! All she needs now is a family to call her own again!

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
