Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Hi my name is Bambi, and I'm a sweet, and quirky 10 month old female puppy who has been waiting for you. Let me tell you about myself. I look like a miniature German shepherd with big ears and coloring combined with the endearing "old man" scruffy whiskers and eyebrows of a terrier. I weigh about 30-35 pounds and that's about how big I will stay. I have lived with my people for 7 months now, and they say I'm a pretty good girl. I usually choose to stay close to my humans when they move from room to room, but otherwise enjoy watching the outside world through the window from my blanket on the couch. I really enjoy humans of all ages and currently live with a 4 year old who likes to snuggle me. When I first meet you, I may be a bit shy, but this resolves with time and a couple of treats. As a puppy, obviously I need get rid of some energy. I currently do this through long walks with my human and although that's worked well, I'm really wishing for a fenced area that I can have the zoomies. I like to be vocal, but if I can get my energy out, I don't have much to say. I don't have any dog siblings, but I have loved any playtime I've had with friendly dogs. Having a dog sibling may be nice to show me how to be a dog but not required since I do well on my own. I haven't spent time with cats but I think they would be interesting. I sleep quietly through the night in my kennel although I would prefer to be close to you if you allow me to. I am fully potty trained and let you know I need to go out by standing at the front door. I know my basic commands and enjoy learning. I've been looking for my forever home for awhile now. Could it be with you? Come find me! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
