Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Everyone loves Paul! This friendly, fun, house trained boy was found stray but someone else’s loss can be your gain! He seems to love everyone he meets. He loves to go on car rides and does well in the car. He recently stayed in a dog boarding facility while he recovered from ear surgery, and the staff there couldn’t get enough of him! He’s really handsome too. Just look at him! The only catch might be that he does seem reactive to other dogs and so probably needs to be an only pet. While on walks he pulls toward other dogs more than he should so he may need some training to deal with that, and probably shouldn't be walked where there are a lot of other dogs. Paul is accepting visitors every day from 12 to 5!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
