Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. AARON - 1-5 years old, 65 pounds, friendly, very playful, dog social Aaron arrived at VBACAC as a stray. This handsone boy has very cool grey Merle fur. His eyes are stunning. His playfulness shows no bounds. Aaron met some dogs through a fence and he looks like he could be dog social. They ran along the fence sniffing and wiggling towards each other. (We will update this when we learn more about him.) In the yard he immediately found some toys, chose his preferred toy and the rest is history! He had a blast with this big ring toy he could bite, tear and carry around. Aaron was so much fun and seemed to be having so much fun. When he got excited, he did show some tendency to want to jump on me. Just something to be aware of when it comes to an excited big dog. Aaron is hanging in our large dog adoption kennel. Bring any resident dog for a meet and greet. Get ready to meet this lively and energetic boy!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
