Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Lobo has been with us since July 2025 and has truly won the hearts of volunteers. He is consistently described as easy to leash, fun to walk, and a joy to spend time with. Lobo loves playing fetch, splashing in the pool, and going on long sniffy walks. He knows some basic cues, takes treats gently, and often seeks out affection. Many volunteers call him their favorite. Lobo previously spent a month in foster care, where he did so well at first but later began showing challenges with listening and responding to corrections. In a few instances, he snapped and even charged when he wouldn't get off furniture when asked and they tried to guide him by the collar, resulting in minor bites that made contact but with no injuries. These moments suggest that Lobo may struggle with handling that feels confrontational or it may have been related to guarding of resources. He did not display any food or toy guarding in this foster home. He's going to need a home without young children and someone who is willing to work through these possible challenges in a home. vcanimalservices Lobo A734322 at Ventura County Animal Services in Camarillo, CA.
