Checkers and his sister, Kona, were heartbreakingly dumped in a vacant backyard and left behind, but thanks to a kind rescuer, they were given a second chance at the happy life they deserve. Now it’s Checkers’ turn to find his forever family. While we can’t say for certain what breed mix he is, Checkers has the handsome look of a Blue Heeler/Terrier mix, complete with striking markings and an expressive face that will melt your heart. Checkers is playful, affectionate, and wonderfully sweet-natured. He enjoys running around, splashing in the water, and soaking up attention from his people. Compared to his sister, he has a slightly calmer and more mellow personality, making him the perfect balance of fun and cuddly companion. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and kids, and would thrive in a home ready to continue his puppy training while giving him plenty of love, exercise, and companionship. Checkers is already neutered, current on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed — he’s more than ready to start the next chapter of his life with a family of his own.
