Description
Dog Breed: Shih Tzu / Pomeranian / Mixed (medium coat). Nigel is a handsome boy who is looking for a home! Nigel came to us as part of our NJ owner surrender program with his brother, Churro. Nigel is shy for a hot second but warms up nicely. He loves to run, play, and snuggle. He is housebroken and cuddly. Nigel is dog and cat friendly but we do think he would be best as an only dog as he does like to have all the attention. Nigel is up to date on all vaccines. Nigel's adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum; training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time, and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home. Apply to foster or adopt wagoninn.rescuegroups

Breed overview
Overview:
The Shiranian is a charming designer breed, originating from a cross between the Pomeranian and the Shih Tzu. These delightful dogs typically inherit a combination of their parents' best traits, resulting in a small, affectionate companion. Physically, Shiranians usually boast a soft, fluffy coat that can range in color and texture, often requiring regular grooming to prevent matting. They possess a compact build with expressive eyes, giving them an undeniably cute appearance. Temperament-wise, they are known for being friendly, playful, and deeply devoted to their families, making them excellent companions for both individuals and families with older children. Their adaptable nature makes them well-suited for apartment living, though daily walks are still beneficial. While generally healthy, potential health considerations can include respiratory issues (common in brachycephalic breeds like the Shih Tzu) and dental problems, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular vet check-ups.
