Are you looking for a smart, sweet, fun, and silly best friend? If so, Katie is your girl! Katie is one of eight puppies born to her beautiful momma in May 2025. All of her siblings have found their forever homes, and now this sweet girl is hoping it’s her turn!Katie is AMAZING with other dogs of all ages and sizes. She absolutely loves kitties too—though she can be a little rough sometimes, simply because she’s still young and eager to play. She would never intentionally hurt a fly and takes corrections wonderfully. She is crate trained and does great with structure. Katie also LOVES human kiddos and truly thrives around people. Her favorite place to be is right by her humans’ side, soaking up love and attention. Katie would make a joyful, loyal addition to any family ready for a playful and loving companion. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
