Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Coconut has been with us since 7/24/25 and would love a new home in this new year! Could it be with you?! 2 years old and 47 pounds Treat motivated and eager to please Intelligent and picks up on cues easily Loves fetch and being outside Also loves human affection and attention Does not love sharing said attention with other dogs or cats, so would need to be your one and only Potty and crate trained, and walks well on a leash, however, goes coco-nuts when passing other dogs Doesn't even try to get up on furniture or beg at the table for food!Please help us spread the word about Coconut and if you’re ready to be on island time with this pretty girl, complete the adoption application at MPRAVL! She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, has monthly flea and heartworm prevention, and her adoption fee is $250. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
