Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Courtesy Post – Rehoming Needed This dog is not at the shelter. Meet Bell – a sweet and loyal 9-year-old female Pitbull (grey). ✔️ Spayed/Neutered: Yes ✔️ Vaccines: Current ✔️ Potty trained: Yes ✔️ Crate trained: Yes Bell has been with her family for 8 years after being adopted from a rescue. She is a primarily indoor dog, friendly with children, and has also lived with cats. Her owner describes her as gentle and affectionate, though she can sometimes be protective and may growl to communicate her boundaries. Bell is comfortable with visitors and allows people to handle her food and toys without issue. Due to work demands, her owner can no longer provide Bell with the time and care she deserves. She would do best in a home where she can be loved, included, and given attention in her senior years. If you are interested in adopting Bell, please contact her owner, Cindy, directly: Email: cindykhau22gmail All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
