Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: Decided By His Adopter!. 1 year old (estimated) Neutered male No known experience with cats, dogs, or children Denim is full of that fun puppy energy and is looking for a patient adopter who can help him continue learning and growing. He will need some guidance with training, including leash walking, but he is a eager to learn. Denim gets along well with people, making him a great fit for an active and loving home. Denim has been waiting a while to find his family so his adopter can name their own adoption fee when they take him home! The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
