She’s potty trained! Special Medical Considerations: Monkey has degenerative heart disease and is considered a hospice case, with an estimated 1–2 years ahead of her. She takes daily medication and will need two specialist visits per year. Monkey was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina, and we are so grateful she’s now safe and cozy in a loving foster home in the DC area. Monkey is a happy, gentle sweetheart who adores people and gets along beautifully with other dogs, puppies, and even cats. She’s mastered the art of getting comfy on the couch with her humans and would love to join you for leisurely walks and neighborhood strolls. Her favorite things? Belly rubs, mealtime, and burrowing under the covers at night to be your own personal, snuggly heater. Don’t let her sweet gray face fool you — she still gets playful bursts of energy, complete with zoomies and games of catch with her favorite mouse toy! Monkey is potty trained, does wonderfully in an apartment setting, and is perfectly content relaxing at home while you’re out running errands. There is no adoption fee for Monkey thanks to a generous volunteer donation, which covers her vaccines, spay, collar, transport to DC, and foster care.
