Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 500.00. Tomahawk (Tommy) found himself unwanted and abandoned at a high kill shelter in West Texas. He is great with other dogs, and people, but cats are a no for him. He likes to chase. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. Tommy is a young high energy pup who's always ready for an adventure! Whether it's chasing toys, zooming in the yard, or making you laugh with his goofy grin - He lives life at full speed. If you're looking for a little chaos and a whole lot of love, he is your pup! I have learned sit very quickly, especially if you have a treat to give. I am friendly with all sizes of dogs and am even on the petite side myself. I love to have my belly rubbed. I am crate trained and fully potty trained. I have no personal space, so if you are wanting a pup who likes to be in your space, I am your guy. Please consider adding me to your family. First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vetting appointment. . A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
