Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Miniature) (long coat). Adoption Fee: $499. Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families. Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known. Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days? If so please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and complete the application. You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side. You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available. Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes? Please drop a note to applicationscarolinapoodlerescue with your name, address and phone # and email. We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team Date into Rescue: 09/28/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Surrendered by owners to a rural NC shelter Foster location: Foster Home in Rocky Mount, NC Special Needs? Apricot is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Apricot was surrendered by her owners. No information was provided; we have no history on her pre-rescue. Our best estimate is that Apricot is a poodle mix. We cannot guarantee that she is hypoallergenic or that she won't shed. Weight: 11.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $499 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Apricot is an easy dog. Easy to love. Easy to get attached to. Easy to live with. She would love if you were home during the day but understands if you need to work. She will be fine with your dogs or equally happy as your one and only. She enjoys a fenced yard but has spent too much time outdoors in her early years and is fine being leash walked. Her only requirements - a heart that will love her completely and a home that will let her sleep in the bed. These are not up for discussion. What is my personality like? Apricot is a toy poodle mix who found herself surrendered to a rural shelter after a life spent mostly outdoors - a pet, but without the comforts that should come with being one. Despite a less-than-ideal start, this gentle girl has blossomed into a sweet, loving companion who is more than ready for her glow-up. Apricot is happily independent. She enjoys people and being near them, but she doesn’t need constant handling or attention to feel secure. She’s perfectly content playing with her toys on her own and appreciates affection on her terms. She currently lives in foster care with other small dogs and is politely indifferent - not rude, just happy doing her own thing. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet. Apricot rides well in the car and is an excellent travel companion. When the day winds down, her softer side shines. Apricot loves to snuggle close at night, sleeping peacefully beside her person. This lovely girl has done her time being overlooked. She’s ready now to be someone’s pampered princess, enjoying the comfort, love, and safety she’s always deserved. If you’re looking for a calm, gentle companion with a quietly loving heart, Apricot may be your perfect match. How do I act when I first meet new people? Apricot is polite and gentle with new faces. She will not bound toward you, preferring a tempered approach. Other tips and tidbits: We have no information on Apricot pre-rescue. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 3 years old. We celebrate her birthday 09/28/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina. To apply, please visit our webpage at .carolinapoodlerescue and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR.

Overview:
The Miniature Poodle, a charming and intelligent companion, originated in Germany as a water retriever before being refined in France. They are renowned for their elegant appearance, characterized by a distinctive curly coat (often requiring regular grooming to prevent matting), long muzzle, and expressive dark eyes. Standing typically between 10 to 15 inches tall and weighing 10 to 15 pounds, they are a compact yet sturdy breed. Temperamentally, Miniature Poodles are known for their high intelligence, making them highly trainable and eager to please. They are generally lively, affectionate, and can be quite playful, thriving on interaction with their families. Their adaptable nature makes them well-suited for apartment living, provided they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. They are often excellent with children and other pets when properly socialized. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of breed-specific concerns such as progressive retinal atrophy, luxating patella, and Addison's disease. With their captivating looks and bright minds, the Miniature Poodle makes a delightful and devoted family member.
