Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: 410. CLINTON (watch my video!) Male 3 years old Pit bull terrier 55 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Good with dogs; untested with kids and cats Meet Clinton- Your Certified Good Boy + Amazon Package Inspector Clinton is a happy, affectionate, tail-wagging boy whose joy is truly contagious. His tail never stops wagging- like… ever. If happiness were a sport, he’d be undefeated. This sweet guy loves every person he meets and has a signature move guaranteed to win you over: flopping dramatically onto his back for belly rubs. He’s charming. He knows it. We support him. A Few of Clinton’s Favorite Things: * Meeting new people - mandatory pets required * Car rides - perfect passenger, 10/10 road-trip buddy * Walks + adventures * Doggy daycare - he LOVES making dog friends and comes home happy but exhausted * Toys - he may pass on tennis balls, but give him a Benebone, Nylabone, or a frozen treat and he’ll keep himself happily occupied for hours Clinton’s Side Job: Professional Amazon Box Quality Control Technician He takes this role very seriously. If a package arrives, he WILL inspect it. He might deliver it to you… …or he might get so excited he “redesigns” the box for enrichment purposes. His foster mom is helping him learn his “place” command so he can calmly wait on his bed when his favorite delivery driver shows up . Training? Already on It- and Crushing It. In under two months, he’s mastered: Sit, Down, Paw, and is making great progress on Place + Heel. He genuinely wants to learn- he’s motivated, smart, and always checking in with those big eyes like, “Am I doing good??” Spoiler alert: He is. Home Vibes When playtime ends, Clinton becomes a snuggly couch companion. He loves being near his humans and will happily follow you from room to room like your loyal little shadow. Clinton Is Looking For… A loving, active home that appreciates a playful, affectionate, goofy dog who thrives on companionship. Because he’s young and full of enthusiastic energy (zoomies included), we think he’d do best with older children. Clinton adores other dogs - an active doggy sibling would be wonderful. But if that’s not possible, regular daycare and playdates will make him just as happy. He’s ready for a family who’ll enjoy his sweetness, continue his training, and is ready for a lifetime of free box-inspections. Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
