Scroll down to see more pictures of this dog. Miss Honey is available for adoption. She is 5 years old and weighs 7 lbs. Her adoption fee is $800.00. Miss Honey is five years old and weighs about 8 pounds. She was dropped off at the SPCA, flea infested, her skin was a mess, she was very thin and her liver enzymes were elevated. Save a Yorkie rescue stepped in and got her the Vet Care she needed. No more fleas, her skin and coat are clear and shiny and she even gained some weight. She is spayed, had a dental and is up-to-date on all her shots. Her liver enzymes are still slightly elevated, but have improved with every blood test. Her ultrasound confirmed that she does NOT have a surgical liver shunt and can live her life as a normal, healthy young Yorkie. Miss Honey has one more hurdle to overcome…she is having cataract surgery on her right eye. After which she will need 4 to 6 weeks recovery time and then she will be ready for adoption! Miss Honey is looking for a quiet calm home where someone is there to snuggle with all the time. She eats well, sleeps well and does her potty outside or on the PP pads. She does not like playful young dogs and children, in fact, I think this beautiful, adorable, loving little girl would be happy to be the only dog and just like her name she is as sweet as Honey. Miss Honey is staying in Nazareth, Pennsylvania with Maryann and Leo.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
