Description
Dog Breed: West Highland White Terrier Westie (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $325 plus tax. We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue. Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it. This very handsome guy is Zach. He is just learning his inside manners. He gets along well with the other foster pups and is a pretty active guy. Zach does need a fenced yard as he is not familiar at all with a harness and leash. Zach would do well with older children. He is a sweet boy but when he isn't getting attention he will try to pinch so he gets petted. We are working on that. Zach is about 7 years old and weighs about 17 pounds. His adoption fee is $325 plus tax of $14.63 fir a total of $339.63. My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neute, dental and microchipping

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
