Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Debbie is an adorable hound mix puppy, born in rescue on October 19, and affectionately known as the little old lady of the group. She has a calm, quiet nature and a heart full of sweetness and love. Debbie adores cuddling up in her human’s lap to watch TV, soaking in all the affection she can get. While she’s more laid-back than some of her siblings, she still enjoys toys and playtime, especially with her furry friends. She does wonderfully with other dogs, kids, and cats (she may play a bit rough at times, but always in good fun). Expected to be a large-sized dog when fully grown, Debbie will thrive in a loving home that appreciates her gentle personality and offers her plenty of affection, comfort, and positive guidance as she grows. If you’re looking for a calm, cuddly companion with a sweet, old-soul vibe, Debbie could be the perfect addition to your family. The adoption fee of $450 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
