Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Louis is an adorable hound mix puppy, born in rescue on October 19, and he is truly a total love. This sweet boy thrives on human connection and wants nothing more than to be close to his people. He constantly seeks affection, approval, and reassurance, making him an incredibly loving and attentive companion. Louis has a playful side too! He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and would do great in a home with a canine friend. After playtime, he’s happiest curled up in his human’s lap, soaking up cuddles and relaxing while watching TV together. Expected to be a large dog when fully grown, Louis will do best with a family ready to give him the time, love, and positive training he needs to grow into a confident, loyal adult dog. In return, he’ll offer endless affection, companionship, and devotion. If you’re looking for a sweet, people-loving pup who wants to be part of every moment, Louis could be the perfect match for you. The adoption fee of $450 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
