Foster location: Foster Home in Rocky Mount, NC Special Needs? Goldberg is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Goldberg was found as a stray; we have no history on him. Our best estimate is that he is a toy poodle mix. We cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed. Goldberg would thrive in a home that appreciates his spirited personality, enjoys an active little companion, and is more than happy to welcome a tiny dog with a big heart into their bed and their life. Goldberg has 3 specific requirements in a forever home. First, there must be another small, energetic dog that will match his energy. Second, he must sleep in the bed at night. And third, he wants an active, on-the-go family that's looking for an adventure buddy. Goldberg has never been tested with large dogs or cats. His foster home does not have either. Though we have not had him around children, his zest for life is contagious and we think he'd love some humans to play with. What is my personality like? Goldberg is a 6.5-pound toy poodle mix with a wide-open personality and a zest for life that’s impossible to miss. Found as a stray, this little guy clearly decided early on that he was here to make the most of every single day. The shelter estimates Goldberg is around 4 years old, but don’t let that number fool you - he acts much closer to a one-year-old puppy. He plays hard, zooms with enthusiasm, and attacks life with full commitment. And then he crashes hard. And when Goldberg is tired, he transforms into an elite-level snuggler. At night, Goldberg prefers to sleep snuggled up in the bed, tucked in close and soaking up all the comfort he can get. He’s the perfect balance of playful energy and affectionate downtime - ready for adventure one moment and curled up beside you the next. How do I act when I first meet new people? Goldberg is the happiest boy. He greets new faces with enthusiasm and makes friends easily. Other tips and tidbits: Goldberg was found as a stray. We have no history on his life before rescue. The shelter estimated him at 4 years old, though he acts younger. We celebrate his birthday 10/24/2021. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.
