Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. A FUN & ACTIVE GIRL: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 32 lbs. Hi, I’m Marnie! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying my time with the nice volunteers, who spend time with and take great care of me. Now I hear that I’m ready to find a wonderful family of my very own – where I can love and be loved furever! I got to spend a few days in a temporary foster home and now I’m back at the MM shelter waiting to find my new home! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was friendly with them. I also liked walking near the neighbor dog I met in my temp. foster home. If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I liked the 6- and 10-year-olds in my temp. foster home, even giving them lots of kisses, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, friendly girl with a big heart and an even bigger love for life! I stay busy having fun and bringing smiles to everyone I meet. The volunteers and my fosters say that I’m such a joy to be around — happy, playful, and full of affection. I worry when my people are away, sometimes howling a bit looking for them or when left in my crate so best no condo- or apartment-style living and I would like a stay- or work-from-home person, please. My foster says I am “the sweetest and most cuddly dog you will ever meet.” I can’t wait to share my cheerful spirit and loving nature with a family of my very own! / Energy Level: 6-8, with bursts of higher energy so I’ll want to be active with my family. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘place’, ‘down’ and ‘drop it’ commands. I also walk nicely on my leash as well as accept nice strangers without jumping on them and I look forward to learning more. I’m food motivated, so that should make my training fun and yummy! / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. I howled a bit in there when my temp. foster needed to leave home, but did well at nighttime. / I’m having some accidents on the shelter schedule, but I did much better in my temp. foster home, so maybe I just need to go out a little more often. I’ll need my new family to help me polish up my potty manners. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love playing with balls, spending time with people, having fun, going for walks, cuddling, and sneaking in a few kisses. When I’m excited, I can be playfully mouthy — in a sweet way. / I was a little afraid of the bath sprayer initially and cars when walking by the roadway. I also don’t like loud noises or when my people are away too much. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a fun and sweet dog looking for a wonderful family that will adore me! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
