Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). PEDICO FEMALE 21 LBS 1 1/2 YRS Pedico made her way to rescue after her owner passed away. We do not have any background on her - age and breed are estimates. She loves to play with her foster dog siblings and is interested the house cats but not aggressive. Crate trained - doing very well on housebreaking. She is very nervous when meeting new people, and isn't a fan of being picked up.(cries out when picked up sometimes) Sweet, affection seeking, fun little girl once she gets comfortable with you. Rides quietly in the car (crated) This animal is up to date on all shots, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. They have been heartworm tested (negative) and on prevention. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds.
