Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. A FUN & FRIENDLY GIRL: Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 29 lbs. Hi, my name is Valeria! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and am enjoying my time with the volunteers, who take great care of me. Now I hear I am ready to find a wonderful home of my very own - where I can love and be loved furever! I’m ready to meet you, so come see me soon! I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off-site and learning a lot! Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I’m available to meet. · OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met some dogs in the prison/foster training program and liked playing with them – I was a little vocal at first. If you have a nice dog at home that likes to play, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. · PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m described as a super sweet and friendly girl with a fun, exuberant personality! I get so excited for my walks and when it’s time to spend time with people. I can be a little nervous about the bath sprayer, but I was such a good girl for my nail trim. I’m sweet, smart, and full of love - the kind of pup who’s sure to bring lots of joy and smiles! / Energy Level: 8-10 so I’ll need regular exercise in my furever home. · SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. When I was left alone in the prison/foster training program, it was best being crated since I like to explore and occasionally de-stuff my toys, though I wasn’t destructive. / My potty habits are good in the prison/foster training program, where I let my trainer know when I need to go outside. · LIKES/DISLIKES: I like spending time with the volunteers, going for walks and playing with toys! My trainer recently took me to Mostly Mutts Bingo, where I greeted lots of patrons with hugs and kisses – showing off my sweet and friendly personality. In the prison/foster training program, I loved to cuddle up and enjoyed some lay down and chill time between play sessions. I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we like doing together, too! / I can’t think of any dislikes yet, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. · MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a fun and very sweet girl looking for a great furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
