Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Meet Ramon 1.5-year-old Belgian Malinois Ramon is a beautiful soul who is gently finding her way back to being a dog again after shelter life. At a year and a half old, she’s past the puppy chaos but still young, playful, and eager to enjoy everything life has to offer. Ramon is fully vetted and both dog and people friendly. She walks nicely on a leash and does well in a kennel, but she’s also earned her foster’s trust and now spends her days loose in the house alongside her foster sibling. Watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding. She loves to run, play, and stretch her legs, but her favorite place to be is right next to her person. Ramon is a true “velcro dog” who wants nothing more than to be glued to your hip and included in your daily life. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
