Description
Dog Breed: Husky / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Cash is a shy, sensitive soul whoâs still figuring out that the world, and people, can be kind. He greets you sweetly through the kennel, carefully sniffing hello, even though he's nervous. He's unsure of the leash, but walks beautifully once it's on. He also seems to be potty trained. Cash can be timid and flinches easily, but he does allow gentle petting and seems to want reassurance. He isnât very food motivated and doesnât seem to know any tricks yet, but he does accept treats out of your hand after warming up to you. He's a super smart boy, but when left to his own devices he uses those smarts to try and sneak out. Who can blame him?! The shelter is hardly a place to call home. He has no problem with staying by your side on leash though. Cash would do best with a patient, understanding person who can move at his pace and help him build confidence and trust in people. With time and patience this sweet, timid boy has the potential to truly blossom.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Gerberian Shepsky is a hybrid of the German Shepherd Dog and Siberian Husky, emerging in North America as a modern companion with working-dog roots. Typically medium to large, they feature an athletic build, erect ears, and a dense double coat, often with striking blue or heterochromatic eyes. Their temperament blends loyalty, intelligence, and independence, making them affectionate yet occasionally headstrong. With very high energy, they thrive on daily exercise and structured training, suiting active families more than apartment living without ample outdoor time. Early socialization supports good manners with children and other pets. Notable health considerations include potential hip dysplasia and eye issues; regular vet care, weight management, and coat grooming help maintain well-being. Their typical lifespan ranges around 10–13 years, rewarding committed owners with a loyal, adventurous companion.
